This BLUE Cactus and all accessories are in like-new condition.  It has seen very little use, been treated with the upmost care, and has been kept in a smoke-free, environmentally-controlled room.  Importantly, the capsule retention screws have remained in the mic, at all times, except during the few occasions when the mic was used.  The Cactus is a fabulous microphone and we are only selling it to raise funds for a new studio.

This BLUE Cactus is unique in several regards:

  • It is one of the earlier, genuine Baltic Latvian Universal Electronics microphones, made before the hullabaloo between BLUE and it's Baltic Latvian manufacturer.  This is the mic that established the stellar reputation of the Cactus as a world-class, professional microphone.

  • The shockmount is the Series 1 with Pop Filter.  The Series 1 is the deluxe shockmount, originally offered by BLUE, but long since discontinued and unavailable.  The mic is held securely in a cradle, which itself is suspended by the shock cords.  The Series 1 Shockmount not only protects the microphone, but allows the mic to be removed from the cradle, while the shockmount remains on the mic stand.  The current Series 2 shockmount attaches the shock cords directly to the mic body, which is a remarkably inferior arrangement.

  • The power supply is the original Cactus-specific PSU, which is easily and quickly switchable between 110V or 120V operation.

  • The mic and accessories are genuinely like-new.  Everything has been treated with the upmost care, to include ensuring the capsule retention screws remain in place to protect the capsule.  This is very important and often overlooked.  Be aware of this, when looking at other auctions for Cactus mics.

Terms of Sale

Shipping:  Shipping weight is approximately 30 lbs., so we're going to chip in.  Within the USA, $50 by USPS insured Priority Mail or $95 by USPS insured Express Mail.  Outside the USA, $125 by USPS insured Express Mail International; all customs fees paid by buyer.  Within the USA, we will contribute $50, if a different shipping method is desired.

Payment:  By wire transfer or PayPal e-Check.  If you wish to pay by PayPal Instant Payment, we ask that you split the PayPal fee with us.  Within the U.S., check or money order are also welcome, but will have to clear before we ship.

Packaging:  The mic and accessories are certainly very well-protected by the Anvil case; however, we will securely box the Anvil case to ensure it remains pristine.

Return Policy:  We warranty this item to arrive as described, solely to buyers within the U.S. Insured, return shipping to be paid by the buyer.  Apart from this, no other warrantees apply, nor returns allowed. No returns on shipments outside the U.S..
