(Mic is matte black; however, appears lighter in the photos.) Please contact us with any questions here The KM 150 microphone is only 3.6 inches (92mm) long. These photos are very close to life-size. The KM 150 is a member of Neumann's top-of-the-line and very versatile, KM 100 miniature microphone series. The KM 100 series is comprised of the KM 100 microphone amplifier body and seven capsules. The KM 150 utilizes the KM 100 body and the AK 50 hypercardioid capsule. The KM 150 is ideal for for close miking of acoustic instruments and sound sources of all types. It is especially useful for attenuating unwanted sound of nearby instruments and/or avoiding problems with feedback. The KM 150 is equipped with a 10dB attenuation switch, allowing SPL levels up to 152dB. This makes the KM 150 ideal for close-miking guitar amps, drum kits, snares, toms, cymbals, congas, and for use as stereo overheads. Brand-new, the Neumann KM 150 has a retail price of $2,098 and a street price of $1,599. We like the KM 150 so much, we have ten of them! We recently sent all ten to John Peluso (Peluso Microphone Lab) for inspection, testing in his anechoic chamber, and hand-matching. All ten KM 150 mics, including this one, passed with flying colors. Amazingly, all ten proved to be extremely close to each other in frequency response, demonstrating the outstanding quality and manufacturing standards of the Neumann KM 100 series. We've decided we don't need all ten KM 150 mics, so we're selling a few mics and capsules to thin the herd and bring in funds for our new studio.
