Neumann KM 184 Factory-Matched Stereo Pair
Mint Condition
*** Ships Worldwide ***

SOLD

Thank you for your interest in our Neumann KM 184 factory-matched stereo pair.  These mics are in mint condition, sound great, and have been well taken care of.  They could be mistaken for brand-new, were it not for almost imperceptible scuff marks from the mounts.  They have seen little use and are being kept in a mic cabinet, itself located in a smoke-free, environmentally-controlled room.  The mics come complete with  Neumann SG21/17 & SG100 mounts, windscreens, and the Neumann stereo-pair wood case.  The wood case is in excellent shape, with minor scratches and finish marks from being in our mic cabinet.

(The mics are matte black; however, appear lighter in the photos.)

Since its introduction, the Neumann KM 184 has become the ubiquitous small-diaphragm, cardioid microphone, in recording studios worldwide.  The KM 184 is the successor of the well-proven and revered KM 84, which has been used since the seventies with great success.  The KM 184 has the same capsule as the KM 84, but differs slightly on the 0° frequency response.  The KM 184 has a gentle rise at about 9 kHz, a characteristic that was introduced very successfully with the KM 140.  The result is a tonal balance that is fresher and livelier when compared to the KM 84 with its flat frequency response in that band.

Brand-new, a Neumann KM 184 stereo pair has a retail price of $2,298 and a street price of $1,699.
